- Combat Maneuvers All of the Improved Combat Maneuver feats (Disarm, Grapple, etc.) have been removed, and replaced with the Improved Maneuvers feat, which grants a flat +2 to CMB and CMD, and allows the use of any Combat Maneuver without provoking attacks of opportunity.
- New Skills: Craft (Steamtech) (Int) and Pilot (Dex) are now skills, and Knowledge (Engineering) covers information regarding Steam technology.
- Steamtech Items: I am currently working on creating Steam Items. Like magic items, they would grant bonuses and abilities that emulate spells. Crafting Steam items uses Craft (Steamtech), with the same DCs. Steam items cannot be dispelled, Disjuncted, or counterspelled, but they do have a finite number of charges that must be replaced.
- Reverse Knowledge: This is a system that I’ve seen before, and I’d like to implement it here. During sessions, you may install a new fact or detail about the setting with an appropriate Knowledge roll. For instance, declaring that one of the Ministers of Elphatal is a stodgy old coot but has a soft spot for cats would be a Knowledge (Nobility) check, but stating that the people of a certain clan of Tephra greets people by standing on their heads would be a Knowledge (Local) check. With sufficient in-character justification, I might be willing to waive the Knowledge check.
